Clubs & Activities

At the Unitarian Universalist Friendship Fellowship, our community thrives far beyond our Sunday services. Our diverse collection of clubs, circles, and interest groups provides a warm space for deeper connection, lifelong learning, and shared laughter.

Whether you are looking to dive into a thought-provoking book, practice mindfulness, enjoy a casual movie or game night, or simply find a supportive circle of friends, there is a place here for you. All of our activities are open to members, friends, and newcomers alike. Explore our current offerings below and find where you connect!

Circle Book Club

The Circle Book Club is our general fellowship book group, welcoming any and everyone who loves a great story and lively conversation. There is no official “membership” requirement – if you show up, you are part of the club!

Our reading selections cover a diverse mix of contemporary fiction, engaging memoirs, popular bestsellers, and historical accounts. We focus on the sheer joy of reading and sharing our perspectives in a friendly, relaxed setting. You are completely welcome to join the discussion even if you didn’t quite manage to finish the book.

Spirituality Book Club

The Spirituality Book Club dives beneath the surface to explore deeper questions of human existence, inner growth, and personal meaning. This group reads a broad variety of titles focused on metaphysics, world philosophies, modern mindfulness, and comparative religion.

Rather than focusing strictly on literature or plot, our conversations serve as a springboard for spiritual reflection and sharing insights about our own life journeys. It is a warm, thoughtful space for those looking to explore diverse spiritual traditions and nurture deeper inner connections within a progressive community.

Women’s Friendship Circle

The Women’s Friendship Circle provides a warm, supportive space for women of the fellowship to gather for meaningful connection, deep conversation, and community engagement. Our focus is on nurturing lifelong friendships while enriching our spiritual and personal lives.

Meetings feature a mix of open sharing, book and topic discussions, and mutual support. Beyond our regular gatherings, the Circle frequently sponsors informal lunches, fun day trips, and special fundraising projects or “good works” to support the fellowship and the broader local community. Whether you are looking for a casual chat, a listening ear, or a way to give back, you are always welcome here.

Young Adult Group

The Young Adult Group provides a welcoming and vibrant community for anyone under 50 looking to connect, build friendships, and have fun. We cater to a diverse range of interests by hosting a wide variety of social activities, including lively board game nights, casual weekend brunches, movie nights, and relaxed outdoor picnics.

We currently do not meet on a regular or fixed schedule, adjusting our gathering times to best fit the availability of our members. Whether you are new to the area or looking to get more involved, we invite you to join us for our next casual get-together!

Movie Discussion Group

The Movie Discussion Group brings people together to share in the experience of great visual storytelling. We gather to watch a selected piece of cinema together on-screen and then stay for a lively discussion exploring its themes, characters, and social impact.

Our selections span a diverse and thought-provoking range, including independent films, celebrated classics, powerful documentaries, and contemporary foreign cinema. Whether you are a dedicated cinephile or just looking for a good story and a warm, conversational space with friends, you are always welcome here!

Sangha

The Sangha provides a peaceful, supportive refuge for anyone looking to practice mindfulness and meditation in a community setting. Grounded in the spirit of shared spiritual community, our gatherings focus on cultivating inner peace, presence, and compassion.

Meetings are entirely open and accessible to all experience levels – from absolute beginners to seasoned practitioners. A typical gathering includes a period of guided or silent sitting meditation, followed by a brief readings or reflection, and an opportunity for open, heartfelt sharing about incorporating mindfulness into our everyday lives. There is no dogma or rigid requirement; come as you are to enjoy a quiet hour of community and calm.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi here at UUFF! Our certified Tai Chi instructor, Sue Huseman, welcomes new and continuing Tai Chi participants to gather on Mondays at 10:30 am and Thursdays at 1:00 pm in Friendship Hall.  All are welcome!

Yoga

Our Yoga group provides a welcoming, low-pressure space to move your body, stretch, and unwind. This class is completely beginner-friendly, making it perfect for those who are new to yoga, returning to practice, or simply looking for a gentle, restorative workout.

Focusing on basic poses, mindful breathing, and safe alignment, the sessions are designed to help you increase flexibility, build gentle core strength, and release everyday stress. There is no competition or flexibility requirement – just a supportive community space to focus on your personal well-being. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat if you have one!
