Upkeep and Safety Committee

The Upkeep and Safety Committee is responsible for ensuring that all Fellowship facilities, grounds, and infrastructure are safe, functional, attractive, and compliant with applicable codes and standards. The committee oversees the maintenance, repair, and improvement of the Fellowship’s buildings, parking lots, grounds, and technology systems. Responsibilities include monitoring and coordinating routine and preventive maintenance of building systems such as HVAC equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, septic systems, interior and exterior lighting, roofing, solar panels, doors, windows, and other structural components. The committee arranges for inspections, repairs, and replacement of facilities and equipment as needed and oversees general building upkeep and safety concerns. The committee is also responsible for the care of the Fellowship’s grounds, including landscaped areas, parking areas, the vegetable garden, and natural habitat areas. Particular attention shall be given to preserving and protecting wildlife and environmentally sensitive areas, including habitats used by gopher tortoises and other native species, while maintaining the property in a safe and welcoming condition. The committee may recommend capital improvements, develop maintenance priorities and budgets, coordinate volunteer workdays, and engage qualified contractors or service providers when specialized expertise or services are required. The Committee shall meet monthly or as needed. The Chair shall report committee activities and recommendations to the CLC monthly and coordinate with other committees and church leaders as appropriate.
