Hospitality Committee
The Hospitality Committee fosters fellowship and community by coordinating refreshments and hospitality activities after Sunday worship services. The Committee’s primary responsibility is to organize and oversee the weekly coffee hour following Sunday services, creating a welcoming environment that encourages conversation, relationship-building, and inclusion.
The Committee is responsible for preparing coffee and filling the water dispenser in the Egret Room, ensuring the availability of refreshments, and coordinating volunteers to serve and replenish food items, as well as clean up following the coffee hour. (Specific directions for preparation and cleanup are outlined in the Coffee Hour Instruction Manual stored in the kitchen.) Most food items served following Sunday services are donated by members. For this reason, the Committee may need to occasionally encourage contributions of such snacks. The Committee may also purchase a limited supply of nonperishable or easily stored refreshments to supplement donations when necessary.
The Committee maintains UUFF’s inventory of kitchen and hospitality supplies. It will occasionally be necessary to purchase and claim reimbursement for certain supplies, like coffee and creamer. Such purchases and repayment should be coordinated with the Treasurer and purchased within the budget allotted to the Hospitality Committee.
The Committee shall meet as needed at the discretion of the Chair. The Chair shall report committee activities and recommendations to the CLC as necessary.
