Charity Committee

The Charity Committee promotes UUFF’s commitment to compassion, generosity, and service by identifying opportunities for members to support local charitable organizations and community needs. In consultation with the congregation, the Committee selects and recommends charitable organizations to receive monthly donations collected through UUFF and helps educate members about the missions and impact of those organizations.

The Committee coordinates with the Treasurer and Office Manager to ensure that donations are accurately recorded and disbursed to designated recipients in a timely manner. The Committee may also recommend special collections or fundraising efforts in response to emergencies, disasters, or other urgent community needs consistent with UUFF’s values and mission.

In addition to financial support, the Committee may identify, organize, and coordinate hands-on volunteer opportunities that allow members to work together in service to local charitable organizations and community causes. These activities may include community service projects, collection drives, fundraising events, and other volunteer initiatives that strengthen UUFF’s engagement with the broader community.

The Committee shall meet monthly or as needed. The Chair shall report committee activities and recommendations to the CLC and coordinate with other committees, church leaders, and community organizations as appropriate.
